Secondome + StudioF
Founded in Rome in 2006, by Claudia Pignatale, Secondome started out as a design gallery but soon after transformed into a design brand. It is a platform for the global promotion of strictly Made in Italy craftsmanship and design. Secondome’s collection consists of objects and accessories that tell small/short stories. Very active in scouting new talent, Secondome has embraced and worked in partnership with designers from all over the world. Over the years, pieces from the Secondome collection have been selected and featured in both temporary exhibitions and permanent collections in several of the world’s most important museums, including the Grand Hornu in Belgium, the Vitra Museum in Germany, the New Museum in New York, La Triennale in Milan and the Shmog (Shanghai Museum of Glass) in Shanghai.
StudioF was founded in Turin in 2017, by Federico Boschiazzi and Francesco Lucchetti, self-taught artisan designers united by a common passion for design, Italian savoir-faire and sustainability. Since 2021, Francesco Valfrè and Francesco Miyakawa have also joined the team. The Turin-based atelier expresses its ethics in reclaiming /salvaging centuries-old plants and subsequently embracing sustainability and innovation, through timeless aesthetics. “We look for centenary plants because they are rare and precious, they grow slowly and always have a story to tell, through our designs we tell their story”. What connects and molds the two realities, is the solid salvaged/reclaimed wood. Studio F’s work is always based on the combination of opposite elements: the raw material and the exclusive finish, the aesthetics of nature with human intervention.
