Tomas Kucera

Tomáš Kučera is a Prague-based designer and glass artist. He was born in Svetla nad Sazavou, The Czech republic, well-known as the glassmaking center. Currently enrolled at the Academy of Arts Architecture and Design in Prague – Glass studio of Rony Plesl. His work encompasses a wide range of small collections of collectible design pieces, most of which are made of kiln-casted glass. Kučera often works with various processes, ritual principles aimed at powerful awareness or the theme of redundancy. In 2021 he received the Czech Design Award. He was also nominated for Czech Grand Design, Elle Decoration Design Award, and Designblok Award 2022.
