About the Work:
Inspired by the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, “Yobitsugi” breathes new life into broken glass.

Nishinaka intentionally shatters his own glass creations, then fuses the fragments using the glassblowing technique, creating new forms of beauty.

The fusion of molten glass with gold and silver leaf, along with the aurora-like
iridescence that emerges during the process and large gaps and disparities in the joints
lends the pieces unique patterns and strength, evoking the dynamism of lightning.

Each piece is a one of a kind handblown creation by Yukito Nishinaka.
