Smoke Mirror

Smoke Mirror is an intriguing piece by Maarten Baas. His creative process involves a cycle of destruction and preservation. First, the designer literally burns parts of the wooden furniture and the mirror. Then, he preserves the damaged piece with a clear epoxy resin coating, crystallizing its appearance forever. The result is a unique object with a really fascinating story.
