Shape of water

The installation ‘Shape of Water’ was designed by Katharina Sook Wilting and Moon Seop Seo which shows the caustic effect, optically created spots of light caused by refraction through water. It challenges our perception of water and invites us to reconnect to the philosophical and poetic meaning of water, in contrast to its utilitarian definition in our current economic system. Rather than a resource to satisfy needs, the designers want us to visualize water as a poetic entity. Through this immersive experience we aim to evoke imagination, meditation, relaxation and foster a more symbiotic relationship with the natural environment.
