Preservation Bench

The Preservation Bench by Houtlander, in collaboration with the American Hardwood Export Council, is created from American white oak.
Approximately 733 Kilograms of CO2 equivalent, captured out of the atmosphere by the forest, have been preserved in a poetic tribute to this self-perpetuating sustainable process.
A seat which has materialised out of the air, a clearing in the forest for new trees to grow.
All the American white oak used to make the Preservation Bench would be replaced through natural regeneration in the American hardwood forest in less than 1 second.
