PET Lamp Bolgatanga
Since 2012 PET Lamp has reinvented itself year after year. In 2020 it has returned to Africa, this time to Ghana, to develop the new PET Lamp Bolgatanga Collection. These new lamps are once again a natural bond between the traditional local weaving technique and the method the studio Alvaro Catalán de Ocón invented to transform a PET bottle into a hanging lamp. The amazingly organic shapes achieved are created by duplicating the warp at certain points of the basket creating an excess of fabric which naturally shapes itself into big and expressive folds.
This collection reflects the Pakurigo Waves style from The Baba Tree weavers. Only a few weavers master this complex technique. Each lampshade is unique and reflects the style and hands from the person who made it.
Shape, measures and patterns differ from each other.
