Equilibrium Stool

The Equilibrium Stool is the result of an elementary composition, in which few components combine through simple gestures. This piece highlights the designer’s personal interest for basic construction and simplicity.

A visual contrast between two arched elements characterizes this piece, enhancing its monolithic presence. Made of flexible urethane rubber, the main body is a cylinder that has been bent in order to become structural. The seating is a slightly curved plate in oxidized copper. A rope puts the structure in tension and combines the base with the seating. Finally, the concave shape of the legs’ bottom creates a vacuum grip on the floor, increasing the stability.
