Brocca della sposa asseminese
“And she carried in her wedding trousseau the traditional jug with which on her wedding day she had to draw water for the first time, as soon as she arrived at her husband’s house.”
The pitcher of the Asseminese bride, precious because it was destined to guard the water, was also an object of worship in the Sardinian tradition aimed at the celebration of the marriage, which made it a fundamental part of the wedding trousseau.
Its ceremonial function made it not a commercial object but destined to people of respect.
The work takes shape from the lathe to the realization of every little detail, a work where tradition, passion and patience come together like water and clay.
Flowers cascade down the handle of the piece and simple decorations are engraved on the shoulder. The belly of the jug is decorated with plastic bird decorations, a motif of decorated bread used for weddings and parties.
Product made entirely by hand in polychrome glazed ceramic in different shades of color.
