Bag Chair in Christie van der Haak Fabric
Piet Hein Eek launched the Bag Chair during Dutch Design Week in 2015. The original design is made with a very resistant American army fabric.
This variant is upholstered with fabric created by Dutch textile designer Christie van der Haak.
Recalling the creation of this piece, Piet Hein Eek said: “We still had a piece of fabric lying around from one of the couches we’d upholstered for Christie. We were making beanbag chairs upholstered with a tapestry at the time, and I thought: why not use Christie’s fabric for one of those beanbags? I sent her an email to see if she was ok with it, and she was. The beanbag turned out quite spectacular. Its design is relatively simple, which makes it a great medium for Christie’s rich fabrics”.
