Apocryphal cities – Venice by Magritte
‘Apocryphal Cities’ is a new A/V installation series representing never performed portraits of cities at the hands of famous painters.
Imagining Rome painted by Hopper or Venice portrayed by Magritte, Luca Longobardi opens up a real imaginary on hypotheses and contents which, thanks to the use of AI, now becomes tangible and usable. The paintings are not represented in their static finished form but as a continuous evolution from draft to draft that flows into a continuous and moving video stream. The original music, the other protagonist of the work that fills the space through spatialized audio, underlines the genesis of every single thought through a contemporary – minimalist and ambient style, almost as if to fix the embryo of the genesis in a dilated moment of contemplation. The two collections of Apocryphal Cities Rome/Hopper and Venice/Magritte, presented in a limited number of 3 pieces for each collection, also mark the passage of the multimedia works of Longobardi which for the first time leave locations dedicated to art intended as cultural entertainment for enter the interior design.
