Abyss vase n.2
The legendary Moser glassworks is introducing the first work of art from its new creative director, Jan Plecháč. The robust crystal artwork in the colour of aquamarine is a technological challenge for the glassmaking craft and was designed for those unafraid to surpass their own limits. With this seven-kilo monument, Jan Plecháč not only gave shape to his vision of a new, dynamic Moser, but also followed up on a remarkable tradition started in 1857 by the founder of the glassworks, Ludwig Moser. The massive aquamarine walls lend this collector’s item unique depth, while the full twenty two kilograms of molten glass the blower has to carry to create the artwork makes it one of the most demanding pieces ever made by Moser. The Abyss collection comes in a limited edition of 99 pieces with a magnetising matte surface. Rendering this haptically attractive finish with such perfection demands discipline and extreme concentration.
