Line Dansdotter Murkén
Line Dansdotter Murkén of Espace Aygo Born in the north of Sweden, based in Brussels -Line Dansdotter Murkén is a contemporary artist and designer whose work explores the metaphysical and embodied experience of the body, space, and transformation through functional everyday objects. Her artistic practice is characterised by an exploration of the material world and its sensory dimensions, often focusing on the tension between the organic and the industrial, blurring the boundaries between art and utility. Murkén believes that design is ontological-that the objects we place in our surroundings shape our reality and influence the way we behave. By infusing her creations with themes of bodily perception, growth, and metamorphosis, she propases new ways of being and doing, where the material world becomes a space of transformative potential. Her practice challenges conventional notions of functionality, inviting us to reflect on the subtle, yet profound, impact of the objects we interact with daily. Murkén is also a member of Espace Aygo, a collective of artists focused on creating experimental, collaborative environments that foster dialogue and challenge conventional boundaries in contemporary art and architecture. Through this collective, Murkén engages with new approaches to spatial and sensory experiences, further exploring the ways in which art can transcend the material and evoke deeper, more transformative experiences.
