dalMoto
Dalmoto is a neologism that moves elegantly between the shades of the Italian language, narrating its story through a harmonious fusion of the words ‘Dal Movimento’ translated as ‘from the motion’. In this combination is captured the vision that wants to be portrayed: transmiting dynamism and speed with a different design approach, rich in contaminations and non-traditional canons of furniture design. Francesco Manfredi and Tommaso Lorenzini studied car design and graduated together in the Italian homeland of the automotive excellence, Turin, today they work in their atelier on Lake Como. Their background in the automotive world and the love for the great Futurist painters of the 20th century such as Umberto Boccioni and Giacomo Balla shape their distinctive style of design depiction together. The designer duo uses furniture design as a vehicle of expression. The influences of their practices have created a way of thinking and reinterpreting objects according to their own vision and ethics. Speed of line, harmonious color palete and a focus on proportions and geometry are hallmarks of Dalmoto. During their path of both study and professional career, they have been involved in projects related to the Italian and international nautical world, collaborating in the creation of innovative vessels. The relationship with the lake has strongly influenced a formal and functional inspiration that can be related to boats.
