Apocryphal cities – Naples by Bosch
Bosch / Napoli is the new and unique piece of the collection ‘Apocryphal Cities’ by multimedia artist Luca Longobardi. The enigmatic and popular character of one of the most beautiful cities in southern Italy is imagined and portrayed through the eyes of Hieronymus Bosch. The result is a story that underlines the esoteric beauty of a city steeped in history and belief. Luca Longobardi opens up once again a real imaginary on hypotheses and contents which, thanks to the use of AI, now becomes tangible and usable. The paintings are not represented in their static finished form but as a continuous evolution from draft to draft that flows into a continuous and moving video stream. The original music, the other protagonist of the work that fills the space through spatialized audio, underlines the genesis of every single thought through a contemporary minimalist and ambient style, almost as if to fix the embryo of the genesis in a dilated moment of contemplation. The new work, presented on a 55-inch LED screen, joins the previous Rome/Hopper and Venice/Magritte collections.
