Cantareras
Regarding the color palette, ‘engobes’ were chosen since clay is their main component, playing with a range of three main tones associated with the most symbolic Spanish popular culture. This includes the white of the houses in southern Spain, the black traditionally worn by women in mourning, and the idealized tone of the earth itself. The white pigment used to highlight the faces of this group of women is made from remnants of a pigment that is no longer manufactured.
