Timbart
Initially, launched in 2018 as a small wood workshop, Timbart has organically evolved into a furniture brand and studio. Unveiled at Salone del Mobile 2023, Timbart’s Founder and Creative Director Márk Cselovszki made his first international debut with his iconic ZERO and ZEN tables – the latter in collaboration with Anna Szőnyi – at the eponymous Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Milan after Rossana’s visit to Budapest
Márk is a self-made designer, developing bespoke objects, furniture and surfaces deeply rooted in the in-depth understanding of both the material and technical side of design. His design ethos is built on the balance of artistic freedom and technical know-how. Grown up in a family of architects and initially trained as a carpenter, specializing in intarsia flooring, his eye for flat compositions naturally transferred into three-dimensional furniture. Blending craftsmanship with top-notch woodworking technologies, Timbart is all about manifesting the perfect balance of the two in each object. Every Timbart product is unique: by artisanal processing and using special types of wood, having some knots, pinworm holes are not a flaw but are part of nature, hence the part of the wood. The special oiling and coloring treatment Márk uses is considered a secret technique known in ancient China thousands of years ago. “We want to bridge the gap between designers and manufacturers by accelerating the design process to build impeccable products that stand the test of time. We are always ensuring quality, from creation to final product, we are present every step of the way. Balancing between heritage craftsmanship and innovative technologies is where Timbart’s true character lies.” – Márk Cselovszki, Co-founder and Creative Director.
