Chiara
Chiara is an artwork that represents envy in the Moor’s series of heads titled “The Seven Deadly Sins”. Immersed in a sea of perfect images and enviable lifestyles, Chiara constantly finds herself confronted with the beauty of other women, and her insatiable envy causes a continuous imitation of others’ characteristics, in an attempt to gain approval on social networks. Her vanity is evident in the beautiful Dior turban that gives her an aura of elegance and sophistication, which she wears as a status symbol. Chiara dedicates manic attention to her appearance, spending hours on self-care, makeups, and choosing the right jewelry. Her constant search for admiration fuels an endless cycle of unfulfilled desires, no matter how many compliments she receives or how many followers she gains. Her superficial imitations cannot replace a true identity and a deep personal satisfaction. And yet, the choice of her phone case unconsciously suggests the only truth: “be yourself.”
