“When designing a need, based on two types of products (in this case a seat and a lamp), one inevitably ends up designing a space, where the singular technical function of the object is inexorably overridden by the inseparable relationship between the functions that play to the users living needs. Reading is a moment of suspension in time and space”.
Book Room, designed by Gio Tirotto, is a room, neither a chair, nor a lamp.
For this collection, a single type of wood from a single tree was used, a 5-meter tall antique maple tree in Turin, infested by woodworm, that as a result of natural disaster collapsed, and was subsequently reclaimed
