Justino del Casar
Justino del Casar was born in Madrid in 1971. At the age of 11 he left his village in La Mancha to study at a boarding school in El Escorial, where he became familiar with values such as austerity, sobriety and temperance that would later be reflected in his work. In 1991 he finished my studies at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos in Madrid, specialising in Graphic Design and Illustration and Decoration. His first job was in the animation studio Cruz Delgado where he worked as a draughtsman and interleaver. The following year heI spent as a draftsman and illustrator of advertising campaigns in the agency La Factoria in Toledo. He decided to move to Madrid and get in touch with another of his passions, decoration. First in Rasgo Estudio and then 10 years in Concept D.Erre where he developed tasks related to furniture design, window dressing, interior decoration, leaving behind the values learned at boarding school at this stage. In 2006 he settled in New York until 2009. During his stay there, he visited all the art galleries, museums and exhibitions imaginable and unimaginable, as well as working at the Y Gallery in Queens as head of staging and assistant director of the play “Some Historic, Some Historic” at The New Stage Theater Company and later as director of scenography with Rinoceronte Films. In 2009 he moved to Valencia to learn the art of modelling and casting the Fallas monument from the Taller Fallero of Maestro Salvador Dolz, techniques that inspired me and that are also reflected in his later work. Since 2013 he dedicate himself exclusively to his great passion: sculpture. He spend most of the day in his studio, dedicated to creation. Since then a multitude of sculptural projects
