South Australian-based designer Jake Rollins embraces the most simple principles of nature in his work, highlighting the departure of our made world from its lossless, harmonious, perpetually improving and infinite dance of life and rebirth. What has been distilled over time are solutions to some of our biggest problems; atomic geometries, homogenous componentry and temporary fixings are applied to the human scale through the most mundane of waste items.

Jake Rollins’ ‘GolfWeave’ body of work exemplifies this best. Thousands of golf balls represent atoms, bound by cord and inserted into geometries taken directly from nature, distorted to fit the human form. Jake graduated from the Jam Factory Associate training program and has since set up a small studio in the Adelaide Hills, where is able to frequently skirt golf-courses and find much of his material.
