Tonino Negri
Tonino Negri was born in Lodi in 1961. He learned his art form studying under artists and artisans with whom he has collaborated in a variety of artistic endeavours involving sculpture and ceramics. In 1993 he founded the Bottega del Respiro (Breath Workshop) at the Gabbiano Drug Rehabilitation Centre. Today he leads an Applied Arts and Ceramics Artistic Workshop in Lodi. Tonino Negri creates large scale installations in squares, parks and churches, using materials other than terracotta. He also personally oversees the direction of several theatrical projects in collaboration with other directors as theatre set design builder. He has travelled extensively in Italy and abroad in order to explore the world of artisanship and art.
