Basic geometric shapes seem to define Wonmin Park’s Haze Series.
With its combination of form, color, opaqueness and texture the Haze series is a balance of rationality and the self in a life where the former often dominates to the detriment of the latter. Wonmin Park’s Haze series perfectly positions itself between the substantiality and insubstantiality of life.
Wonmin Park’s furniture acts like sculpture, in that it demands to be looked at and visually appreciated. To maximize the visual appeal of his pieces, Park uses resin, a material that is not highly suitable for practical items such as furniture. Although Park’s furniture also stimulates our sense of touch, it functions more directly as a visual symbol, reminiscent of an abstract painting. His design furniture demands equal consideration as both practical commodity and fine art.View designer’s page
