Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia, founders and designers at Rooms, were both born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1981 Spring. They met and became friends while studying interior design at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts. They began collaborating on interior and product design projects in 2007. The studio focuses on interior and product design on the local and international stage. Working on design from hotels, restaurants, and residential projects to furniture, lighting, and accessories. Rooms is proud to be the first Georgian product designers, whose work is presented at different galleries and shops around the world. Following with nomination of Interior Design’s Best of Year 2013 finalists Rooms Hotel by Rooms in the Hospitality: Resort Hotel category and presenting Medallion Mirrors at Spazio Rossana Orlandi and Invisible Mirror/Brass tables at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi During Salone Del Mobile Milan 2014 extended into Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Sardinia, Porto Cervo Summer 2014. Design duo is influenced mixture of Asian and European cultures that make up the Georgian identity.

In works like Directors Lamp and Embroider Bench they create mixture of crafty and modern design piece. The pair adds vintage patterns and materials, incorporating color and interesting textiles. The aim of their design is to bring back honest, human objects keeping traditional and informal touches. “Our work is humanistic, trying to keep some humor. I think this brings out an emotional response… something that lots of people today are looking for.” – Nata Janberidze Rooms’ use this technique in interior design as well; Bright pops of color, choosing right materials and vintage pieces of furniture. Incorporating them with timeless design objects and modern pieces makes wonder in the space willing to discover all the little touches they created. And makes you fill the senses they wanted to share making your mind wander.
