Volume 01

Volume 01 is an innovative room divider. It is part of Alissa + Nienke research on materials, which aims to transform a surface into a voluminous object.
A repetitive pattern of incisions gives the otherwise flat surface a three dimensional quality. By creating new structures, the piece acquires new characteristics in flexibility, volume and transparency. Its former ‘stiff’ material becomes a beautiful and articulated design.
